Overdue Notices no longer being mailed via U.S. Post

paperless campaign
As of January 1, 2017 overdue notices and alerts to users will be transmitted only via e-mail and/or text messaging. In order to save the library hundreds of dollars a month in postage MCFL will no longer be mailing overdue notices by U. S. Post.

Customers who list their email address with the library receive email alerts to tell them when they have items that will be due back at the library two days before the due date.

Material is due on the date indicated on the receipt printed at checkout.

To find out when items are due there are two options:

1) Call your Branch Library and ask what is due. Please have your library card barcode number available, the staff person will need it to confirm your identity before sharing this information. Some overdue items may be renewed unless there is someone else waiting for the book or if it has already been renewed.

2) You can also Check Your Account online 24/7, either in the library or at home using MCFL’s online catalog. You can renew items, check your due dates, request additional materials, and more.

To add your email address to Your Account:

1. Login to your account
2. Click on “Contact Information and Preferences”

3. Add or Change your email address
4. Add your cell number

5. Scroll down to “Preferences”
6. Under “My preference for receiving library notices" click the drop down box
7. Select “Email address”
8. Select your carrier for TXT

9. Click “Submit Change Request”
